Step 1: Your Back's Directional Preference

Directional Preference is a fundamental concept for exercising successfully without pain. It is the posture where your back is the most comfortable.

When you register for Healthy Back Program, your first class teaches how to position yourself during exercises according to your individual Directional Preference.

How do you know your own Directional Preference? You can ask your spine therapist OR complete our self-assessment questionnaire before taking that special class.

Step 2: Choose Your Level of Challenge

There are FIVE levels to the Healthy Back Program. Choose the easiest (Level 1) if you know your back is sensitive or if you are new to back exercises. After each class, a quiz will confirm if you are exercising at the right level.

Otherwise, by moving through each class sequentially, you will progress to the next level as you improve.

Step 3: Take Advantage of Extra Resources

In addition to the main classes, the Healthy Back Program has a series of videos to help you exercise safely and effectively.

Learn how to activate the right muscle during exercise classes, how to troubleshoot issues with pain, or get answers to common questions about technique.

Is there a Waiver to sign?
