Assess how well your upper body and Core muscles coordinate to support your spine while weight is placed through your arms.
Proper upper-body support is important for movements such as planks, push-ups, 4 Point Kneeling and everyday tasks.
Wall Push-Up Self-Test Technique
- Stand tall in your Directional Preference standing position.
- Feet shoulder distance apart.
- Place your hands on the wall at shoulder height and shoulder distance apart.
- Press the heel of your hands into the wall.
- Keep this pressure as you begin to lean forward by bending your elbows and hinge at your ankles.
- The rest of your body should be in a straight line as you are maintaining your directional preference position throughout the test.
- Don’t allow your lower back, your hips, your upper back or neck to change positions.
